The Forest Layers by Lucy


The top of the forest is called the canopy        
it is like an umbrella.       

The understory
is were the baby trees are growing up.

The forest floor is were     
the dead animals and leaves on the ground
rots.

    Your class is learning so much about the forest. I really liked your diagram that tells us the different levels of the forest and your description was very informative!
