Matariki By Sasha

This is the seven sisters of  matariki.

 

These are their names Matariki , Ururangi,  Waipuna-a-rangi, Waiti, Waita,  Tupu-a-nuku and  Tupu-a-rangi.

 

They had beautiful  long golden  hair and  midnight  tops.

 

I feel amazed at their humming bird singing and their pukeko feathered dresses.

Matariki

We are learning about Matariki.

The name Matariki is used also for the central star in the cluster, with the surrounding stars named Tupu-a-nuku, Tupu-a-rangi, Waiti, Waita, Waipuna-a-rangi and Ururangi

We know that it is a time to plant Kumara.

It is a time to make and fly kites.

We also have learnt about the Tradition tale about Matariki.
