Tiritiri Matangi By Room 7

Tiritiri Matangi - slideshows

On Friday we went to Tiritiri Matangi for a school trip.

First we had to arrive early to school and catch a bus.  We felt excited.  Then we walked to the boat and that was a bumpy ride.

Next we all went in small groups and walked up to the Light House.  On our walk we saw many native  birds.  We saw Tui, Kokako, Stitch Bird, Saddle Back bird, fantails and lots more.

Finally we reached the Lighthouse where we had lunch and played some games.  We felt sad when it was time to leave.  We walked down as a big group and caught the boat and bus back to school.

  1. Kia ora koutou,

Thank you for posting this recount, I have been itching to see photos and read about your day at Tiritiri Matangi. I have wanted to go to Tiritiri Matangi for soooooooo long, I would love to see the HUGE birds with gorgeous, brightly coloured feathers. WOW it must be amazing! I will DEFINITELY go there this summer. Maybe Jaime can show me the way to the lighthouse.

Lucky you to visit one of my favorite places! Good to see shots of the foliage, birds and lighthouse again.
