Jumping spiders By Daniel
Jumping spiders have some of the best vision among invertebrates and use it in courtship, hunting and navigation.Though they normally move quietly and fairly slowly, most species are capable of very agile jumps, notably when hunting, but sometimes in response to sudden threats. All jumping spiders have four pairs of eyes with one pair being their particularly large anterior median eyes.
Jumping spiders live in a variety of habits.
They are generally diurnal, active hunters.Although jumping spiders are generally carnivorous, many species have been known to include nectar in their diets.
Trite planiceps is a common jumping spider endemic to New Zealand
and one of about 150 species of jumping spiders in New Zealand.
