How to clean your desk.

Hi my name is Shaan and today here are some steps to make a clean desk. My desk is the cleanest desk
you have ever seen in kowhai team.

1. If there's some rubbish in your desk put it in the rubbish bin which has paper not plastic.

2. Put your books in a pile near the left-hand corner and side of the desk and to the front of the desk.

3. If you have a pencil case, put your stationery in the pencil case.

4. Put your pencil case to the right side of the desk.

5. Put your ruler in the gap where there is a little space to put it, it is 9 cm.

Valerie Adams By Ethan

On Wednesday 9th in London Olympic Stadium Valerie Adams competed in shot put and won a sliver medal.      

Firstly, I think that Valerie Adams is the best shot putter in the New Zealand Olympic team. Next, she mostly always brings gold back home. After that, the Belarise person who won the gold medal was taking drugs so Valerie Adams got the gold medal and the person who got the bronze got the sliver and      the person who came 4th got the bronze.

Finally,  Valerie Adams did't find out she got the gold medal for 10 days.  I think that is a good thing because winning medals in the olympics is a good thing.

My friend Emily had her Dads brother's gold medal because Josie (her sister) wanted to have it for show and tell.

A couple of weeks later when I came home from school my Mum had a package for me. . . and it was the trash packs, I won! ! ! But my brother was so sad and cried ...  a minute later he stopped crying. I got 17 trash packs and I already have 16.

He knows lot s of cool tricks such as.......jump,crawl,stomp,hi-five,double hi-five,shake,catch,roll,leave,
wait,get and he also knows four words...I,love,you,hello. The next thing I'm gonna teach him is to play

STUFF ABOUT DANTE.................................

Dante is a extra fluffy,very clean and heathy samoyed. 
He loves running around in our back yard and walking with my Mum.
Dante will never bite anyone, he'll only nibble.
Dante absolutly adores visitors he'll bark at them until they put their hand out so he can shake it,
after that he'll calm down.
He absolutly loves Dawn and Niki. (they are my Mums friends)         
Dantes nice and fluffy so he keeps us all nice and warm in the winter time!
He keeps us very safe because he barks at any sranger so at night he'll wake us up if there is a robber.
He's THE cutest thing in the world!
Dante just got a new friend called Bella!
He is going to an amazing kenal on the 17 August for 8 days, a couple of people said he's going to love it there,I think the same thing and I hope hes going to love it too!
Dante's very good when we are eating, he sits a distice away from the table because he knows hes not 
aloud to beg,i n a different way he's a extra good boy.
Dante loves to lick my face after I eat. I don't know why because I never have food on my face!
He loves to play in the rain mostly when its poring so then we have to dry him and thats the only reason 
we think hes a rascle.
Dante eats food that smells like fish and we can't brush his teeth so thats a big problem because he's always breathing in my face so we got him a toy that makes your breath smell like peperment!
The only thing he eats that lives is fish and chicken and he loves them alot, but hes not allowed to have chicken anymore, which isn't really fair for him because he use to love it so much when he was allowed to eat chicken,so thats a bummer.Dante is the cutest thing in the world.

School Holidays – July

I went skiing in the South Island, we stayed in Wanaka with some friends and skied on Mt Cardrona. It was awesome and I could do the blue runs with my Mum and Dad ... I was faster than my Mum!

One day we went to Queenstown and went up the Gondala and did the luge! It was awesome!

Today I finished my Electricity project, you can come in to room 15 to see it.But,HERE I have some 

photo's :                                        

First you tape two boxes together.

Next you get two tins and two lunch bar boxes.

Now you  stick the lunch bar boxes to ther base. After that you stick the two tins on the boxes

So now you get a rectangle box and stick it on.you make power lines and stick them in.

Meteors By Theo

Meteors are tiny pieces of rock called meteoroids. When the meteoroids are formed and you see them they are pieces of rock from a comet. They pass the sun and some of the rock breaks off and is left in space. The meteoroid is left hurtling toward Earth as it turns around the sun. The meteoriod sometimes passes through the atmoshere and...starts to burn!

This means that they are about to hit Earth. They are now meteors. The atmoshere is so hot that the meteor burns up before it hits. The meteors are able to pass because the atmosphere is so thin. When meteors pass through at the same time the sky looks like it has shooting stars.

When meteors are in space they look blue.When they are in the sky they glow because the atmosphere is so hot. Meteors are what we see in the sky when meteoriods in space heat up and glow.



Gliders

Gliders arn't like Aeroplanes.  Gliders dont have engins they uses the wind to fliy. That's why there colde gliders

gliders are puld by a rope thats tide to a aear plans for safd resins. When the glider is gliding theres a lever that cut the rope.

Nancy  Wake: The  White  Mouse

Nancy  Wake  was  a  spy  from  World  War  2. Nancy  was  born  in  Wellington.

Nancy  was  an  amazing  spy, here's  what  she  did: Nancy  cycled  500  kilometers,  3  days, per  71
hours  through  several  German  checkpoints  to  delever  raideo  messagers  and  once  the  Germans
questoned  Nancy  for  4 days but  she  told    them  NOTHING!  When  the  war  ended,  Nancy led  her  troops  in a  victory  march, there  she  was  told  that  her  husband   was  killed. Sadly  Nancy
died  at  the  age  of  94.

Nancy  Wake  is  one  of  the  best  female  spies  ever.

The Process:

Step 1 - The wind turnbine or Hydro dam generators the electricity.  The big turbines make the electricity.

Step 2 - The Power Station is where the electricity is made.  It then travels to a special tower called the Transmission tower.

Step 3 - It then travels along the powerlines then to a transformer and then to a fuse box in your house.

Step 4 - ....and WA-LA you have electiricty in your house.

I Did The Hillary Trail By Wyatt

On the weekend Dad, Mum and I did the Hillary trail. Before we get into the fun... I have to tell you about the boring car drive. First we went past the Visitor centre.  Then we went to the end. Then we started. Finally it's over, time to get into the fun. Day 1 we walked for ages climbing mountains. Woah, woah, woah is that what happened is that what next. I think that was day2, anyway let's get into day 1. So as I was saying we went through the bush then we went over the mountains there were pretty good views then we went down to the camp grounds. Day2 we woke up early to go.  we walked for ages and ages. Then we walked along  the beach that looked like a desert.

I'm The Captain By Theo

Two weeks ago on Saturday I was playing Rugby. My coach said "do you want to be captain"?. It was hard to choose but then I said "yes"!. My coach was so happy!! So then I was captain. Sometimes I play  under  9's and we were playing under 10's. Me and my friend Kelly did a double buster BASH ! ! !. We tackled him by mistake and we broke his shoulder. It was a great game.  12 to us and 0 to them.

My Teacher Bryan is very nice and kind. He also he is 29 years old and  he is very tall. He has brown eyes and brown hair. He also has tattoos on both of his arms  and he really, really likes cheetah patten. He teaches 30 wonderful children in Room 15!

Goopey Mc Coopey comes from the horrible planet slime.  At slime planet there are broken down trees and spooky ugly aliens . He came to earth to get food because there's no tasty food for him at  his planet. He has a jelly body so he can fart you with jelly and he has a red bright eye if you look into it you will be
dead. He has huge horns and huge hot sparkly scary wings. He works for Captain Fancypants. I like Goopey Mc Coopey.
